ARLENE BOGNA, Director
Arlene Bogna is an award-winning writer/director. In 2007 she won the Platinum Aurora Award for Best of Show, a Telly Award, and a Davey Award for the PSA "Canvas" which is currently airing on broadcast television. "Canvas" was produced by the prestigious Women In Film (WIF) PSA Program and co-funded by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. The PSA describes and benefits the charity A Window Between Worlds, a national nonprofit organization that uses art workshops as a means to heal mothers and children who have experienced domestic violence. "Canvas" debuted at the Crystal and Lucy Awards and received commendations. In 2008 "Canvas" screened as a short film / official entry in independent film festivals including Worldfest where it also won a Remi Award.
Arlene's feature screenplay "Earth Kids" which she co-wrote with Nicole Schubert won 1st Place at the 2007 KIDS FIRST! Festival Awards. Arlene wrote and directed the narrative short "Patriot Johnny" about an Iraq war veteran who comes home to find his world has changed. Currently she is working on a comedy she wrote called "Whoa Nellie!" in which a young woman starts a different life after receiving some dire news. [more]
